As per the Ministry of Commerce, China would scrap anti-dumping duties on high-performance stainless steel seamless tubes imported from Japan and the European Union.

The ministry charger anti-dumping duties imports of high-performance stainless steel seamless tubes from Japan and EU from November 9, 2012. The duties ranged from 9.2 percent to 14.4 percent according to the level of dumping.

On June 20, the ministry notified the domestic steel industry that the anti-dumping measures will be reviewed. During the review period, the domestic industry withdrew its applications for continuing levying anti-dumping duties on Japan and EU imports.

China, the largest producer globally, saw crude steel production levels slip to 66.8 million tons in July, down from 69.5 million tonnes in June. From a year earlier it grew by 2.6%, as per the latest figures from the World Steel Association.

Excluding China, production levels worldwide came in at 66.94 million tonnes, up from 66.25 million tons in June.
