However, what’s the difference between structural and fluid transportation steel pipe?

 

1: Difference on specification. The eddy current experiment must be performed on fluid steel pipe once we use them for the transport of fluids.

2: Different use of scale. One is structural support, and another is transporting fluids (such as oil, water).

3. Specific examples: The 8163 steel pipe would have higher requirement than 8162. As 8162 can be substituted, but not vice verse GB/T8162-1999 (structural seamless steel pipe). It is mainly used for general structure and mechanical structure. It represents raw materials (trademarks): carbon steel 20, 45 steel; alloy steel Q345, 20Cr, 40Cr, 20CrMo, 30-35CrMo, 42CrMo and so on.
