Which is the first product you would think when talking about robot? Is it the cute robot Pepper? Or is it the robot for cleaning, translation? Actually, we can make our heads bigger than that. How about the 4 to 5 meters tall robot made by high quality steel and the ERW steel pipe?

Have you ever thought about the materials choice for robot? Generally speaking, there are three principles for it: usage demands, production skill requirement and cost control. For usage demands, there are several aspects we need to pay attention to. First of all, intensity would depend on the materials' size and we should choose high strength material if there is limits for size and weight. To some extent, steel product's strength would be nice for robot's production. What's more, heatproof products would be necessary for robot if it works in the high temperature. Of course, corrosion resisting products would be important if it works in corrosive medium. Under this situation, galvanized steel pipe or other galvanized steel products would be an option for the production of the robot.
