Special technical treatment for ASTM A53 steel pipe with different types

Different grades and types for ASTM A53 steel pipe would lead to special technical treatment and it is necessary for suppliers no matter ERW steel pipe or seamless steel pipe to figure out the detailed technical treatment.

1. ASTM A53 Grade B for ERW steel pipe has the certain heat treatment with a minimum 1000°F [540°C] for the weld seam.

2. ASTM A53 Grade B, if it is in a cold expanded, and the expansion would not be exceeded 1.5% of the required OD.

3. For ASTM A53 type F, this kind of product is not used for flang. And it would be recommended to use ASTM A106 Grade A pipe if you want to use for coiling or cold bending with ASTM A53 type S or type E.

For customers, they may don’t need to know the detailed production technical. However, they need to know which kind of steel pipe would be the best for adopting.
