Stainless steel pipe is a general term for iron-based alloy steel with anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation properties through the passivation of chromium with a chromium content of more than 13%. The main component of stainless steel pipe is iron. There is only one element that determines the properties of stainless steel pipes, and that is chromium. After adding chromium as an alloying element to steel, the internal molecular movement is promoted to develop in favor of resisting oxidation damage. Therefore, the content of chromium determines the oxidation resistance of stainless steel.

There is also an element called nickel. The role of nickel in stainless steel is only brought into play when it cooperates with chromium. Nickel is an excellent corrosion-resistant material and an important alloying element of alloy steel. The role of nickel and chromium in stainless steel is to change the structure of high-chromium steel so that the corrosion resistance and process performance of stainless steel are greatly improved. That is to say, the combination of nickel and chromium mainly plays a role in corrosion resistance.
