What are the processing methods of steel plate cutting

Update:2024-05-24      View(s):281        Keywords :What are the processing methods of steel plate cutting
Steel plate cutting is widely used in various industries due to its many advantages such as precise processing, smooth cutting surfaces, neat edges, and no need for polishing. Common steel plate cutting and processing methods include:

1. Flame cutting: Flame cutting is currently the most widely used steel plate cutting method. It uses a flame to locally heat the steel plate to a molten state and then uses high-pressure oxygen to blow away the molten steel to achieve cutting of the steel plate. The advantages of flame cutting are simple equipment, wide application range, low cost, and can cut steel plates of various thicknesses. However, the accuracy of flame cutting and the quality of the cutting surface are relatively low, and subsequent processing is required.

2. Plasma cutting: Plasma cutting is an efficient and high-precision steel plate cutting method. It passes an electric current through highly compressed gas to generate a high-temperature plasma arc, locally heats the steel plate to a molten state, and then rapidly cools it to achieve cutting. The advantages of plasma cutting are fast cutting speed, high precision, good cut quality, and the ability to cut steel plates of various thicknesses. However, plasma cutting requires the use of special power sources and cutting torches, and the equipment cost is high.

3. Laser cutting: Laser cutting is a high-precision and efficient steel plate cutting method. It uses a high-energy laser beam to irradiate the surface of the steel plate to locally heat the steel plate to a melting or vaporization state, and then blows away the molten steel or vaporized steel particles through high-pressure gas to achieve cutting of the steel plate. The advantages of laser cutting are fast cutting speed, high precision, good cut quality, and small deformation. It can cut various
Thickness of steel plate. However, laser cutting requires the use of expensive lasers and cutting heads, and the equipment and maintenance costs are high.

4. Water cutting: Water cutting is an environmentally friendly and safe steel plate cutting method. It sprays high-pressure water through the cutting nozzle to locally cut the steel plate into the required shape. The advantages of water cutting are environmental protection, safety, wide application range, and can cut steel plates of various thicknesses. However, water cutting is slow and requires the use of specialized equipment.

The above are several common steel plate cutting and processing methods. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. The specific method to choose needs to be evaluated according to the actual situation.
