What is the difference between a long-radius steel elbow and a short-radius steel elbow

Update:2022-10-18      View(s):775        Keywords :What is the difference between a long-radius steel elbow and a short-radius steel elbow
1. Different definitions
Long radius steel elbow: Long radius steel elbow means that the radius of curvature of the steel elbow is 1.5 times the diameter of the pipe; if it is greater than 1.5 times, it is the category of steel elbow.
Short radius steel elbow: Short radius steel elbow means that the radius of curvature of the steel elbow is equal to the diameter of the pipe, which is often said to be 1 time.

2. Different applications
Long-radius steel elbows are the most commonly used and are generally long-radius by default. Long-radius steel elbows will be used in places with high pressure or high flow velocity. If the resistance requirements of solid pipelines are strict, larger radius steel elbows should be used. The short radius is generally used in low-pressure fluids or where steel elbows are restricted. If there are no conditions or not specified in the contract, the long radius steel elbow is preferred.

3. Different implementation standards
Long Radius Steel Elbow:
GB/T12459-2017, GB/T13401-2005, GB/T10752-1995, HGJ514-87, DL/T695-1999, D-GD87-0219
Short Radius Steel Elbows:
