What is the difference between an anti-corrosion steel pipe and a galvanized steel pipe

Update:2024-11-14      View(s):53        Keywords :What is the difference between an anti-corrosion steel pipe and a galvanized steel pipe
First, what is the difference between an anti-corrosion steel pipe and a galvanized steel pipe?
Although anti-corrosion steel pipe and galvanized steel pipe are both pipes, there are certain differences in material, manufacturing process, anti-corrosion performance, and usage scenarios.
1. Different materials: Anti-corrosion steel pipe is a pipe made of high-quality seamless steel pipe after surface treatment. Its materials are mainly Q235B, Q345B, 16Mn, etc., which can be selected according to the actual use environment. A galvanized steel pipe is a pipe made of ordinary black pipe after electroplating, hot-dip galvanizing, and other processes. Its materials are mainly low-carbon steel such as Q195, Q215, Q235.
2. Different manufacturing processes: Anti-corrosion steel pipes mainly achieve the purpose of anti-corrosion through various surface treatment methods such as anti-corrosion coatings and spraying. Galvanized steel pipes use chemical and physical technologies such as electrolysis and hot-dip plating to produce a galvanized layer, thereby achieving the effect of anti-corrosion and beautification.
3. Different anti-corrosion performance: Anti-corrosion steel pipes have better anti-corrosion performance and longer service life in harsh environments. Its anti-corrosion layer is made of spraying processes such as epoxy resin coating and asphalt paint coating, and its service life can reach more than 10 years. Although the galvanized layer of galvanized steel pipes can resist corrosion, its corrosion resistance and service life are slightly inferior to those of anti-corrosion steel pipes.
4. Different usage scenarios: Anti-corrosion steel pipes are mostly used in chemical, electric power, petroleum, municipal construction, railways, bridges, and other fields. Because these fields require pipelines to have relatively strong anti-corrosion performance and can be used in harsh environments for a long time. Galvanized steel pipes are mainly used in indoor places such as construction, decoration, and furniture. Because these places are mostly dry and well-ventilated environments, they do not require too high anti-corrosion performance.

Second, which is more durable, anti-corrosion steel pipes or galvanized steel pipes
Anti-corrosion steel pipes and galvanized steel pipes have certain advantages in durability, depending on the use environment and needs.
1. The durability of anti-corrosion steel pipes is mainly reflected in their excellent anti-corrosion performance. It uses a special anti-corrosion coating that can effectively resist the erosion of soil, acid alkali, and other substances, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the steel pipe in harsh environments. This kind of steel pipe is mostly used in highly corrosive environments such as chemical and electric power, because it can withstand the erosion of chemicals and moisture in these environments, thereby greatly extending the service life of the steel pipe.
2. Galvanized steel pipes are improved in durability by coating a layer of zinc on their surface. This layer of zinc can prevent the steel pipe from being corroded by air, moisture, and some other corrosive substances, and plays a good protective role. Galvanized steel pipes show good durability and stability in general environments, such as buildings, water supply systems, and other fields.

Therefore, when comparing the durability of the two, it is necessary to consider the specific use environment and needs. In environments that require high corrosion protection, such as chemical and petroleum fields, anti-corrosion steel pipes may have more advantages; while in some indoor places or occasions with certain requirements for aesthetics, galvanized steel pipes may be more suitable.
