What is the difference between seamless steel pipe and welded pipe

Update:2020-07-22      View(s):1069        Keywords : seamless steel pipe and welded pipe

The forming process of seamless steel tubes and welded tubes is mainly different.

Welded pipe is the abbreviation for the welded pipe. Welded pipe is a kind of steel pipe made of welded pipe mold.

As an important part of steel products, steel pipes are divided into welded steel pipes (plates, strips) and seamless steel pipes (round billets) due to their different manufacturing processes and different shapes of tube billets.

Welded steel pipe

The blank used for welded steel pipe are steel plate or strip steel, which is divided into furnace welded pipe, electric welding (resistance welding) pipe, and automatic arc welded pipe due to different welding processes. There are two types of straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes due to their different welding forms. Because of its end shape, it is divided into a round welded pipe and special-shaped (square, flat, etc.) welded pipe.

Seamless steel tube

Because of its different manufacturing processes, it is divided into hot-rolled (extruded) seamless steel pipe and cold drew (rolled) seamless steel pipe. Cold drew (rolled) tubes are divided into round tubes and shaped tubes.
