Slight-tensioned in Hot Rolling Seamless Steel Pipe

There are more than ten steps for the hot rolling of seamless steel pipe. And some customers would have question for the slight-tensioned in the process of hot rolling seamless steel pipe. Today Sara would like to introduce it for all of you.

There is an example for it. If the seamless steel pipe comes to the step of slight-tensioned, there are three rollers here for it. If the diameter of the pipe is 100mm, and the roller may be have the diameter of 90mm, 95mm or 98mm; under this situation, it would become smaller than before once the seamless steel pipe pass through the roller. Thus, our customers get what they want-to make the diameter a little change in the pipe which called slight-tensioned. I would like to call it changing gently. Like some girls would like to become white, so they may just make up with a little BB cream.

Why we do this? There are two points. First, we know it is hot rollling so that it may change the shape during the long distance of transport. We can guarantee the size for the customer’s demands after this step. What’s more, the pipe’s surface would be more solid than before after the slight-tensioned. So the mechanical properties would be better, like it would decrease the unbalance in the pipe’s surface.
