The purpose of API 5l steel pipe is to drill the oil well, main of which is supporting walls of the well in the process of well drilling and after well completion in order to maintain the normal operation of drilling process and the whole oil well after the well completion.
The category and packing of API steel pipe are divided into short thread casing with its couplings and long thread casing in accordance with SY/T6194-96 API steel pipe. In line with SY/T6194-96, domestic branch pipe is tied up by steel wire or steel belt. The appearance of branch pipe and collar thread should be screwed on protection ring to safeguard thread.
API steel pipe is the lifeblood of keeping the operation of the oil well. Due to different geological conditions and complex strained conditions in the pit, drawing, pressing, bending and wrenching are comprehensively combined on the pipe of body, which puts forward higher requirements on the quality of the casing itself.
On the basis of SY/T6194-96, the length of domestic casing is at random, ranging from 8-13m. However, if the length of casing is less than 6m, the amount provided will not exceed 20 per cent of it. Inner and outer surface of the casing can not have fold, hairline, delamination, crack, rolling, and scarring. These defects should be totally cleared away and the depth of clear should not exceed 12.5 per cent of normal wall thickness. The appearance of casing and coupling thread should keep smooth and have not any other defects such as rag, tear and something which breaks off the thread affecting intensity and tight junction.
